Shock As Woman Stabs Taxi Driver In Broad Daylight<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
By A Correspondent \u2013 A Borrowdale woman has appeared before the Harare Magistrates\u2019 Court after allegedly stabbing a hired taxi driver multiple times in a daylight incident that shocked residents of the capital.<\/p>\n
Michelle Nhukarume was brought before Harare magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini facing a charge of assault and was granted US$100 bail.<\/p>\n
The complainant, Godwin Mikiri, a self-employed driver operating on the inDrive platform, is alleged to have been attacked on 10 April 2026 at around 11am after being hired by Nhukarume for errands in Harare.<\/p>\n
According to prosecutor Tinashe Maphosa, Nhukarume instructed Mikiri to drive to Gumble Close in Borrowdale, where she claimed she was meeting an individual identified only as Herry.<\/p>\n
The court heard that she kept the driver waiting for over an hour, allegedly delaying his departure with various excuses. She later received a phone call and briefly exited the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Upon returning, she is alleged to have entered through the rear passenger door and launched a sudden attack on the driver using a kitchen knife while he was seated and reclining.<\/p>\n
Mikiri was stabbed in the chest and sustained multiple injuries to his hands as he struggled to defend himself.<\/p>\n
During the confrontation, he reportedly managed to wrestle the knife away from her and bit Nhukarume on the neck in an attempt to stop the assault, causing the weapon to fall.<\/p>\n
Bleeding heavily, Mikiri called out for help, attracting the attention of three men who rushed to assist him.<\/p>\n
A passerby then transported him to a nearby clinic for treatment before Nhukarume was later taken to the police station, where the matter was reported.<\/p>\n
