The fatal crash, which wiped out nearly his entire immediate family, left Mujuru facing both emotional and financial distress. The incident drew widespread public sympathy, with calls for support intensifying as details of the scale of the tragedy emerged.
In response, Chivayo dispatched representatives to hand over a 2026 Toyota Fortuner 2.8 GD-6, valued at approximately US$80,000, along with US$50,000 in cash. He also extended a separate gesture to Mujuru\u2019s close friend, gifting him a Toyota Aqua in recognition of what he described as steadfast support during the bereavement period.
