I\u2019m looking at myself saying, \u2018Ew, that looks bad.\u2019 What am I doing at this stage of the game? I don\u2019t wanna be doing this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rather than easing out gradually, Nakai has drawn a firm boundary.<\/p>\n<p>She revealed that she has already stopped accepting club bookings, noting that her last appearance in that setting was on New Year\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Going forward, she\u2019s only interested in performances that align with her evolving vision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not doing club gigs. I\u2019m not doing performances where it\u2019s just me and my DJ,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re booking me for a performance, it has to be festivals, and I\u2019m bringing a band. If I can\u2019t bring band, leave me out of it, \u2018cause that\u2019s the only thing that inspires me now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This shift isn\u2019t just about changing venues, it\u2019s about redefining her artistry.<\/p>\n<p>Nakai spoke about wanting more depth in how she presents her music, moving away from the high-energy but formulaic club environment that often prioritises image and hype over musicality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like I need to grow as a musician, even the way that I perform and put my craft out there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause now just wearing like a skimpy dress in the club, popping bottles\u2026 I\u2019m not there anymore. I don\u2019t wanna be there anymore.
