This principled stance underscores our dedication to enduring democratic norms,” he said.

Provincial leaders also voiced support for the proposed legislation, describing it as key to maintaining momentum toward Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 targets.

ZANU-PF Manicaland Province Chairperson Tawanda Mukodza said supporters want President Emmerson Mnangagwa to continue implementing his development agenda.

“We want our President to continue his work to 2030 and beyond because the people on the ground are seeing the results of his leadership,” he said.

Manicaland Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza, emphasised the importance of continuity for long-term transformation.

“We are fully behind this amendment because it gives our leader more time to complete the work he has started.
