The player would typically come from a club’s development structures, such as Under-20 or Under-21 sides.

If approved, the rule would apply globally and extend to leagues such as the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League, where clubs would be expected to comply with the new requirement.

The measure represents a shift from existing frameworks in some competitions that focus on homegrown player quotas within matchday squads rather than mandating their presence on the pitch.

In Zimbabwe, top-flight clubs maintain junior structures, although the extent to which youth players are utilised in senior matches differs across teams.

Clubs including FC Platinum, Ngezi Platinum Stars and Highlanders FC are among those with established development pathways that have produced players for senior football. Some of the junior teams play in the Division One league.

FIFA has not announced a timeline for the implementation of the proposed rule, with discussions ongoing as part of its broader review of the global game.

The post FIFA considers new rule on first XI selections for all professional Zimbabwean clubs appeared first on Soccer24.

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-1669381584671856"
     data-ad-slot="3579572842"
     data-ad-format="auto"
     data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>
#FIFA #considers #rule #selections #professional #Zimbabwean #clubs

World football governing body FIFA is considering a new regulation that could affect all professional clubs, including those in Zimbabwe,…

[6
3012,10664,286,1585,1153,10665,494
post-57603","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-example-3","tag-clubs","tag-considers","tag-fifa","tag-professional","tag-rule","tag-selections","tag-zimbabwean
["GET
