Tinashe Sambiri– Controversial ZANU PF-linked tenderpreneur Wicknell Chivayo has publicly celebrated a High Court ruling in his divorce saga with Sonja Madzikanda, describing the outcome in a highly emotional and celebratory social media post.

In a lengthy message, Chivayo expressed relief over the court outcome and framed it as a personal victory, while also thanking his legal team and making reference to his children and family life.

Under the settlement, Chivayo is required to pay a US$5 million maintenance package, with US$2.2 million already paid and the remaining US$2.8 million due within 30 days.

The arrangement also includes a structured parenting plan and financial management conditions that have sparked public debate.

However, the agreement has also raised eyebrows, with questions emerging over the level of financial oversight and control reportedly retained within the settlement despite it being formally concluded in court.
