CAPS United coach Takesure Chiragwi has hit out at people criticising his team selection.
Chiragwi has been fielding most of the players he worked with at Ngezi Platinum, who were signed by the Green Machine at the start of the campaign when he took over.
In his latest lineup, which won 1-0 against Telone on Sunday, the gaffer named six former Ngezi Platinum players, including Talent Chamboko, Nyasha Gurende, Kudzai Chigwida, MacDonald Makuwe, Richard Hachiro, and Takunda Benhura.
“The players that are playing are CAPS United players,” he said after being asked about his team selection.
“I’m surprised by that question because the team is performing well and we’re on top of the table. What we want right now is for the team to improve. For example, last season we were not in the position we are today because the players are doing pretty well for CAPS United.”
CAPS United moved two points clear at the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table with Sunday’s result.
Benhura scored the only goal of the match in the first half to put the Green Machine ahead.
