Radio personality and DJ Lamiez Holworthy has shared an emotional reflection on motherhood, family and identity, giving fans a deeper glimpse into the meaning behind her wedding celebration.
Taking to Instagram, Lamiez opened up about how becoming a mother has shifted her perspective, particularly when looking back at special moments from her big day with husband Khuli Chana.
She recalled the emotional impact of hearing their children speak at the wedding, describing it as one of the standout memories that continues to stay with her.
“Having become a mother myself, I get it now,” she wrote, adding a touch of humour as she mentioned how one of the younger kids didn’t quite make the cut.
Reflecting more deeply, Lamiez spoke about the profound influence of the man who raised her, despite not being her biological father.
She revealed that his unconditional love shaped the way she now parents her own children, even after his passing in 2019.
“I think being her mom, loving her unconditionally and raising her came naturally for me because I too was raised by an amazing man who stepped up and loved me unconditionally despite not being mine biologically. Sadly he passed away in 2019… I will forever celebrate him.”
She explained that her wedding was never just about her and her husband, but a celebration of family, heritage and the people who have supported them לאורך their journey.
For Lamiez, it became a moment to honour both her Indian and Tsonga roots, as well as the generations before and after her.
“My wedding day wasn’t just about my husband and I, it was about our children, honouring our parents, bringing together families, our friends—our tribe who constantly show up for us… reclaiming my heritage, celebrating all those who came before me and all those who are yet to come.”
Closing off her heartfelt message, Lamiez embraced her identity and the many roles she holds, expressing gratitude for the life she is living.
“Ke nna Lamiez Holworthy Morule- Mosadi wa Khulani, Ngwana wa Imelda le Sello, Mme wa banake and just a really blessed girl who gets to live and experience God’s kept promises.”
Her post resonated with many followers, who praised her for celebrating family, love and cultural pride in such a deeply personal way.
