Manica Diamonds Players Threaten Match Boycott Over Pay Dispute With New Owner

Sports Correspondent -Players at Manica Diamonds F.C. have warned they may refuse to take part in their upcoming Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash against Hardrock FC this Saturday, citing unpaid wages and outstanding signing-on fees.

Reports indicate the squad has issued a firm ultimatum to club management, demanding that the financial issues be resolved immediately or they will not travel for the fixture.

The dispute follows remarks by the club’s new owner, Africa Mineral Ventures, who reportedly told players he is beginning a new chapter with the team and will not assume responsibility for previous signing-on fees and bonuses.

If the boycott goes ahead, it could severely disrupt the team’s preparations and may expose the club and players to possible sanctions from league authorities.
