Telone officially part ways with head coach Herbert Maruwa

Telone have officially announced the departure of head coach Herbert Maruwa after a poor start to the season.

Maruwa’s exit comes amid growing pressure from sections of the club’s leadership and supporters, with concerns over the team’s performances and lack of results since the start of the campaign.

The WiFi Boys have struggled for consistency, managing no wins in their opening nine matches.

They have three points from nine games and are currently 16th on the log table.

Telone said in a statement: “We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Coach Maruwa for his unwavering commitment and service during his tenure. His contributions have been highly valued, and the club extends its deepest gratitude for the pivotal role he played in the growth and professional development of our players.”

Attention now turns to who will take over as Telone look to salvage their season and move away from the relegation zone.

Luke Masomere has been linked with the top post but appointment has some members within the club’s executive opposing it.
