Willard Katsande resigns at Rangers less than two months into his first coaching job

Willard Katsande has resigned from his role as head coach of Rangers Football Club just two months into his first coaching job.

Katsande, a former Zimbabwe international midfielder, had taken charge of the team for seven matches in the Northern Region Soccer League. His appointment had been seen as a significant step in his transition from playing to coaching, with expectations that his experience would benefit the club.

However, his tenure has come to an abrupt end after he submitted his resignation, citing a number of challenges that made it difficult for him to continue in the role.

In his resignation letter, Katsande highlighted non-payment of remuneration as a major concern, indicating that he had not been receiving his agreed salary since taking up the position. He also pointed to unsuitable living conditions, which further complicated his stay at the club.

During his short-lived tenure at Rangers, he managed one win, four draws and two losses, leaving the team just one place above the relegation zone in 18th position.
