PSL explains reason behind increasing minimum gate charges for 2026 season

The Premier Soccer League Zimbabwe has increased the minimum gate charges for matches in the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

In a statement released on Saturday morning, the league said the decision was reached during an Emergency Committee meeting held on 5 March 2026.

Under the revised structure, the minimum entry fee for the rest of the ground has been set at US$5, up from the previous US$3.

Tickets for the VIP or grandstand section will now cost US$15, while VVIP access has been pegged at US$25.

The league said the increase was necessitated by the rising cost of matchday-related services, statutory levies and tax obligations that clubs are required to meet when staging PSL matches.

“The PSL remains committed to striking a balance between ensuring that clubs are able to meet the operational costs associated with hosting matches while maintaining reasonable access for fans, who remain a vital part of the game,” the league said.
