Police Nab Notorious Masvingo Robbers
By A Correspondent – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of four suspects linked to a series of armed robberies in Masvingo Province.
The suspects — Collen Gweme (28), Probit Njanjure (24), Gift Chibharo (28), and Farai Tazivarose (59), also known as “Chitichi” — are alleged to have been involved in a string of armed robbery incidents that occurred in Triangle, Chiredzi, and Mkwasine between January 2026 and 15 April 2026.
According to police, the arrests followed a tip-off that connected the suspects to the crimes, leading to a coordinated operation that resulted in their apprehension.
Following the arrests, law enforcement officers recovered a variety of stolen goods believed to have been taken during the robberies.
The recovered items include a Nissan Caravan kombi, assorted groceries, three television sets, solar panels and inverters, a lithium battery, a submersible pump, 16 cellphones, three bicycles, and several other electrical gadgets.
The ZRP says investigations are ongoing as authorities work to determine whether the suspects are linked to additional cases in the region.
