Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president Nqobile Magwizi has commented on Marshall Munetsi’s omission from recent national team call-ups.

Munetsi, who currently plies his trade at Paris FC, has been a notable absentee in the Warriors squad in recent assignments, sparking questions about his international future.

Speaking at a press conference after the Executive Committee meeting in Harare on Friday, Magwizi confirmed that the midfielder is still available for selection.

The ZIFA boss said: “Marshall Munetsi, he’s an amazing and fantastic player. This Exco meeting, one of the commitments — as you are aware from our mission and vision — is to give every Zimbabwean a chance and the capability to play, referee, or administer, in order to make Zimbabwean football great.

“This is what this Exco is committed to, and it is in our framework. Any player who is good, disciplined, and wants to play for the nation is definitely going to be given a chance.

“We don’t get involved in choosing the players to represent the country, but our policy is clear on giving the best players an opportunity to represent the country.”

Magwizi’s confirmation comes a month after Warriors coach Marian Marinica also announced that he is keen to open dialogue with Munetsi.
