CAPS United edged out Highlanders to break a decade-long jinx at Barbourfields Stadium.

The Green Machine beat Bosso 2-1 in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 9 encounter played on Sunday.

The result gave Makepekepe their first league victory over their rivals at Emagumeni since 2015.

CAPS United opened the scoring through Kudzai Chigwida in the 36th minute to put the visitors ahead at the break.

Malawi international striker Lloyd Njaliwa doubled the lead in the 65th minute.

Highlanders only started responding ten minutes later, pulling one goal back through substitute Darlington Mukuli.

However, the response fell short as CAPS United managed to absorb the late, intense attack and held on to their lead.

The win extended the Green Machine’s lead, and they are now on twenty-two points, four ahead of second-placed Hardrock FC.

At Rufaro Stadium, Dynamos played out a goalless draw against ZPC Kariba.

The result put the Glamour Boys in fourth place with seventeen points, while ZPC Kariba moved up to 10th with eleven points.
