Renovations at the National Sports Stadium are continuing, with the majority of the work now complete.
The installation of the pitch is now finished, with underground sprinklers fully operational.
The Parliamentary Sports Portfolio Committee Chairperson, Farai Jere, toured the stadium on Thursday and expressed satisfaction with the progress, indicating that the venue could begin hosting matches by the end of May.
“Everything is now ready as you can see,” Jere said during the tour. “We are looking to start hosting Premier Soccer League games from May 25.”
The giant facility, which is owned by the Ministry of Sport, has been closed for the past two years, with initial renovations having started in 2024.
